Be a Mate, Make a Difference Got some time to spare and want to give back? We’re on the lookout for a down-to-earth volunteer in South West Sydney to visit an elderly gentleman living at home. He’s after a solid mate to chat with, go for a walk, maybe head to the pub , or yarn about all things NRL — especially the Illawarra Dragons! If you’re a good listener who loves footy, friendly banter, and a relaxed cuppa, this could be the perfect fit for you. It’s a small commitment that can make a big difference in someone’s life. Impact Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated. HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community. Requirements 18 years or older • National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare • We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for 30 minutes to 1 hour visit Monday to Sunday between 9am and 5pm, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
